About the event

The Westport Prevention Coalition (WPC) invites you to a community discussion for Alcohol Awareness Month.  What's typical here, and what's not? How does our drinking culture feel to outsiders, or to those in recovery? Why do our youth drink more than in other similar communities? Join other town residents to explore these topics together.

  • Local Speakers including a member of the Teen Awareness Group, a parent, a person in recovery, and counselors. Participating agencies include the Progressive Institute, LiftWell, and Westport Pride.

  • Breakout Discussion Sessions

  • Resources

WPC is a community coalition dedicated to preventing substance misuse across the lifespan, through educational and environmental initiatives. Positive Directions is the state-designated agency managing the work. For more information about WPC or to join the coalition's monthly meetings (virtually), contact Margaret at mwatt@positivedirections.org.
