Mental Health First Aid Training for Norwalk Residents and Nonprofits

Do YOU know how to recognize and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders? This training allows anyone (aged 16+) to be certified as a mental health first aider. Free to Norwalk residents & nonprofits. There will be a one-hour lunch break; please bring your lunch.

About the event
This is a FREE training being offered specifically to Norwalk residents and Norwalk nonprofit providers to enhance their skills to serve the community. Positive Directions is grateful to the Elizabeth Raymond Ambler Trust for funding the training, and is happy to contribute this training to the Norwalk community as part of our involvement with the Social-Emotional Health initiative and The Norwalk Partnership.
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an evidence-based training for anyone aged 16+ who wants to be able to recognize that someone is struggling and know how to respond. It covers:
Signs and symptoms of mental illness
Signs and symptoms of substance use
How to interact with a person in crisis
How to connect the person with professional help
