NEW DATE Legislative Breakfast on Cannabis in CT

Please join the Norwalk and Westport prevention coalitions for a legislative breakfast!  

• Hear findings from our recent environmental scan which highlight the need for local monitoring and compliance of the new cannabis law.
• Learn about differences in how CT's law treats underage cannabis vs underage alcohol, both in terms of public health/prevention best practices and law enforcement.
• Consider possible ways to strengthen CT's law, such as closing loopholes in potency caps, restricting portions of edibles to 1 serving, and creating consequences for underage possession or impaired driving to match consequences for alcohol.
• Understand the types of education and enforcement services that municipalities will need to and have begun to engage in, and the lack of allocated funding for those activities.

This forum is co-sponsored by the Westport and Norwalk prevention coalitions. Presentations will be provided by key local stakeholders representing public health/prevention, youth services, and law enforcement.
